I have always been one of those people who loves to get out into the world and talk with other people, but a few years ago, I realized that I had to do something about my smile. My teeth were yellow and unattractive, and it was really discouraging to see how much different my smile was. I knew that I needed to get my teeth fixed, so I started working with a professional dentist to make things right. Within a few short months, my smile was completely transformed, and I knew that I owed it all to my dental professional. Check out this blog for more information about working with a dentist.
If you have naturally yellow or otherwise discolored teeth, then you aren't going to be a good candidate to have your teeth whitened using the same methods that other people with stained teeth will be able to use. In this case, you will need to get a bit more help from your dentist and go with veneers or another option to get white teeth. However, if your teeth are stained or discolored due to your lack of dental care, lack of professional cleanings, the types of foods that you choose to eat, or simply due to time, then you can use a variety of whitening methods. You can learn about a couple of these whitening methods in this article.
Use coconut oil pulling to whiten your teeth
You can use a process called coconut oil pulling to get your teeth whiter. This process is extremely easy and can be done right at home. You will take a spoonful of coconut oil and swish it around in your mouth. The hardest part about this method is you will have to swish it for in excess of 10 minutes, which can make your mouth a bit tired, but it will be worth it once you see those whiter teeth. You don't want to gargle with it or swallow it. Once you are done, you want to make sure you spit it out in the trash or outside so it won't clog the plumbing. Rinse with water and brush as normal after you have finished. You should do this a few times per week until you get the desired results.
Use charcoal to whiten your teeth
Another great way for you to get whiter teeth and to remove stains is to use activated charcoal. In order to use activated charcoal for teeth whitening you will take a clean and wet toothbrush and dip it down into the charcoal. Lean over a protected surface and put the toothbrush in your mouth. Try to avoid getting the charcoal on your skin. Brush with the charcoal and toothbrush going in a gentle and small circular motion for two to two and a half minutes. Spit out the charcoal, trying not to get any on your face, and then rinse your mouth out well. You can do this a few times a week until you get your teeth as white as possible.
Get your teeth professionally whitened
Another way to go about whitening your teeth is to go directly to your dentist. They can give you an exam and help you to decide on the best method for whitening that they would suggest. This may be either laser whitening, tray whitening, or another option they may have available.
